Community Supported Agriculture

...or CSA, is a common business model for small farms where households pay a lump sum to the farmer at the beginning of the growing season and receive a weekly bounty of vegetables and/or flowers throughout the summer and fall. This weekly bounty is called a "farm share." The goal of this model is to financially support the farmer through the season, while engaging the community in the gratifying (and challenging) aspects of farming. In other words, as a CSA member, you get to eat fresh, local, delicious food and enjoy beautiful flowers all summer long – while knowing you helped produce it!

2018 Vegetable CSA Details... (keep scrolling for Flower CSA)

At Small Feat Farm, we aim to provide a well-rounded variety of vegetables each week, and throughout the season. Our vegetable farm share is designed to supplement the diet of 1-2 veggie-lovers and home-cookers or 3-4 people who want to add more veggies into their usual grocery list. We aim for a value of $20-$23 of produce each week for a total of 17-20 weeks from June through October. Each week, we will send out a newsletter, including a list of items in your share and recipe ideas for some of the less common vegetables and herbs.

The price of a Vegetable CSA farm share is $450 for new customers. For returning customers, the price is $425.

A $200 nonrefundable deposit will secure your membership if you do not wish to pay in-full. The remainder of the total price will be due no later than July 1st, 2018. Members unable to complete full payment will forfeit their share for the remainder of the season.

Shares will be available for pick-up on Wednesdays at Maine Craft Distilling (123 Washington Ave. Portland, ME) from 4:30-6:30pm, starting June 13th. If you live in or near Gray, arrangements can be made to pick-up at the farm. If you would like your vegetables delivered to your place of work or other location, a one-time $30 delivery fee (cash or check) will be required.

CSA shares can be split between households! If the cost of a full share is too much for you, or you are hesitant about your ability to eat an entire share each week, feel free to find a friend to split the share with. Contact information for each household should be given to the farm, but how you choose to split the share is up to you!

If you'd like to purchase a share, please visit the Online CSA Payment page after March 1st and select either the Full Price or Deposit option. If you would prefer to write a check, please send us a message through our Contact page with your name, phone number, email address, and any other comments/questions. You can send a check directly to the farm (address at the top of the page).
